Total Mucosal Thickness (TT)
Basal Zone Thickness (BZT)
Papillary Height (PH)
TT is in arbitrary micrometer units
(in this case, BZT = 12% and PH = 41%)
The following studies reveal the pathology
findings in patients with GERD. They confirm that Esophageal pinch
biopsies are adequate and useful in diagnosing chronic GER. It is
important to perform biopsy in order to confirm diagnosis in the absence
of Reflux Laryngitis and Erosive Esophagitis.
