Results from a retrospective study have
implicated Helicobacter pylori eradication as a causal factor in the
development of GERD in some patients. However findings of prospective
studies have failed to demonstrate this association conclusively. In
fact a logistic regression analysis showed no significant association
between GERD outcome and H. pylori eradication and age, gender, alcohol,
or caffeine intake, or H. pylori genotypes ( cag A, cagE, or vacA
).

Recent
Japanese studies show beyond any doubt that H. Pylori is associated
with gastric malignancies. Confirming that “ The only good H.
pylori is a dead H. pylori”.
