DysphagiaDysphagia is the perception of difficulty with swallowing foods. This may be secondary to a stricture (a narrowing of the esophagus) or due to a cancer. Dysphagia is an alarm symptom, and warrants a visit to a physician. If dysphagia is due to a stricture, it may be treated with dilatation by a gastroenterologist.
